Hello, I’m Oğuz, a Computer Engineering graduate of Marmara University. I like working close to the machine: backends, Linux servers, networks and robots. C, C++ and Python are the languages I enjoy most. For backend applications I reach for Rust and Go. I also write Java, C# and TypeScript, and build with Next.js and Flutter.
I can handle the whole path from code to production. I run Debian servers and Docker. I keep production and pre-production apart. I automate deployments with webhooks and Bash and watch them on Grafana. I have built a mobile app with its own backend for image upload, authentication and encryption, and an API for a live Next.js site.
I also like working below the web. I designed an algorithm that turns a gimbal toward a point on the map, tested over ROS2 and a Pixhawk autopilot. I built a FastAPI and MongoDB service that authenticates IoT devices and stores their environmental data.
I use macOS and Gentoo Linux every day. I write clean, modular code, work through unfamiliar problems methodically, and settle into new tools and teams quickly. This site, written in Rust, is where I write about what I build and learn.
My route here was not the usual one. I began as a medical student, and during the Covid-19 period I discovered coding. What started as a hobby quickly became a passion. Even though I was already in my fourth year of medical school, I made the bold decision to switch to computer engineering, and I have never regretted it.
